Coating -
Powder-Coated Steel Tubing 
In the mid-1970’s,
Hofmann Industries began a pioneering effort to produce a steel tubing powder coating
process that would provide a revolutionary surface finish for its primary product – welded
steel tubing. In collaboration with pre-treatment chemical suppliers and powder coating
material manufacturers, Hofmann designed and perfected a process for coating steel
tubing that allowed for post-coating fabrication.
Today,
after 30 years of refining and improving this process, Hofmann
welded steel tubing with its durable, mar-free finish is the
industry standard!
Using
a variety of modern powder materials, including polyester,
epoxy, nylon and Teflon, Hofmann electrostatically applies
powder to tubing. Hofmann’s state-of-the-art powder coating
equipment assures that a uniform, consistent, low-thickness
powder film is applied to parts, making powder-coated parts
extremely price competitive.
Due to
the high level of demand for quality powder-coated steel products,
Hofmann has now installed three (3) powder coating lines at
its plant, and is able to coat hundreds of thousands of feet
of steel tubing each day.
One of the
best advantages of Hofmann’s powder coating finishes is evident
during the fabrication process. The exceptional bonding
characteristics of this quality coating eliminate chipping,
cracking or peeling of surface finish during most forming and
assembly operations.
The Hofmann
guarantee assures every customer that the powder-coated finish as
applied in our plants will not be affected by customer fabrication
operations.
