Tube Manufacturing
At Hofmann Industries, Inc., we manufacture the industry’s finest welded carbon steel tubing in custom sizes, shapes, and material grades. We operate two facilities incorporating more than 485,000 square feet of manufacturing space, and both are outfitted to form tubing in a variety of standard and custom cross-sectional profiles. Our high-speed tube mills are engineered to form, weld, size, and cut steel tubing in one continuous high-speed process that we continually monitor for quality and repeatable consistency. Custom tube manufacturing is part of our vertically integrated approach that also includes powder coating, plating, and tube fabrication as well as custom packaging and labeling. Using prime steel sourced from leading domestic steel producers, we manufacture custom welded steel tubing for a range of industries. Our process involves passing flat steel through a series of rolls that gradually form the cold steel into a tubular shape. Using critically controlled and monitored welding parameters, the butted edges are joined along the entire tube length. A contouring tool is used to remove the welding flash along the outer diameter, and we also smooth the inner diameters upon request. The length of welded steel tube is rolled to OD tolerances, and for shapes other than round, it is passed through a series of concentric rolls to form a square, rectangular, oval, elliptical, trilobal, or custom profile before the final sizing operation. Our capabilities also include in-line end forming galvanize-respray, and surface treatment, depending on the requirements of the application. With tube mills operating at high speed, we manufacture hundreds of thousands of feet of welded steel tube each day. We are a lean, ISO 9001:2015 certified tube manufacturing company and our plants are set up to optimize product flow, reduce lead time, minimize operational expense, and achieve the very highest standard of quality. Our staff possesses an outstanding work ethic, and our entire team is committed to continually improving every aspect of our business.
